Dextrose Tryptone HiVeg™ Broth, Modified is recommended for detection and enumeration of mesophilic and thermophilic aerobic microorganisms in food. This medium is useful for enumeration of mesophilic organisms, thermophiles in cereals and cereal products, dehydrated fruits and vegetables and spices. Acid producing organisms produce
yellow coloured medium. The tubes should be incubated at 55°C for 48 hours in a humid incubator. This medium is prepared by replacing animal peptones with vegetable defined peptones to avoid BSE/TSE/GMO risk.
