Phosphate Buffered Saline (For Listeria) is used for preparation of dilutions for Listeria species for further testing from food samples. The composition and performance criteria of this medium are as per specifications laid down in ISO 11290-1:2017 and ISO 11290-2:2017. pH of the medium is around 7.2. Sodium and phosphate ions in the medium buffers the medium well. Sodium chloride of the medium maintains osmotic balance of cells.
