Hi-PCR® Super-Fast COVID-19 Detection Kit

Coronaviruses are enveloped viruses with a positive-sense single-stranded RNA genome and a nucleocapsid of helical symmetry with a characteristic club-shaped spikes on the surface. They are highly diverse due to constant mutations and recombination. There are about 40 different varieties of coronavirus distributed mainly into 5 genera. SARS-CoV-2 is a coronavirus, subgenus Sarbecovirus, 150-200nm in diameter with a genome size of about 30 Kb. SARS-CoV-2 variant B.1.1.529 (Omicron), first reported to WHO on November 24, 2021, has been designated a variant of concern (VOC). In response to this, HiMedia has developed a multiplex Reverse Transcriptase Real-Time PCR kit which enables the clinicians and public health laboratories to quickly detect Omicron positive variant and differentiate from other SARS-CoV-2 variants.
