Used for the isolation, cultivation and differentiation of fastidious microorganisms in an infusion free medium.

Tryptose Agar w/ Thiamine HCl, HiVeg™ is used for the isolation, cultivation and differentiation of fastidious microorganisms in an infusion free medium. Tryptose containing media, rather than the conventionally used meat infusion media have been used for the enumeration and isolation of Brucella species. These media can be used as general purpose media for cultivation of wide variety of organisms. Supplementation of the medium with defibrinated blood (sheep, horse) to prepare blood agar aids in the isolation of fastidious organisms. This medium is prepared by replacing animal peptones with vegetable defined peptones to avoid BSE/TSE/GMO risk.
