Fraser Secondary Enrichment HiVeg™ Broth Base is recommended for the isolation, cultivation and enrichment of Listeria monocytogenes from food and environmental specimens.The medium is based on the formulation of Fraser and Sperber and found to be remarkably accurate in detecting Listeria species in food and environmental samples. It is recommended by APHA and formulated so as to provide optimum conditions for the growth of Listeria. This medium is prepared by replacing animal peptones with vegetable defined peptones to avoid BSE/TSE/GMO risk.
