MUG MacConkey HiVeg™ Agar is recommended for selective isolation and detection of lactose fermenting coliform organisms by a fluorogenic method. It helps to detect the presence of an enzyme ß-glucuronidase and thereby rapidly identifying Escherichia coli in mixed clinical specimens. This medium is prepared by replacing animal peptones with vegetable defined peptones to avoid BSE/TSE/GMO risk.
