Recommended for the cultivation and enrichment of less fastidious bacteria. It can be used in detection of inhibitors in bacteriological examination of meat.
Reuter’s Sorbic Acid Agar Base is used for the isolation and differentiation of Lactobacilli from foodtuffs, faeces etc. This media complies with German recommendations for food examination for Lactobacilli. The growth of Lactobacilli is favoured by the broad spectrum of nutrients and by magnesium and manganese salts. Sorbic acid suppresses undesired, accompanying bacteria.
