TN HiVeg™ Agar is used for isolation and cultivation of Vibrios from food samples as per APHA. V. cholerae can be differentiated from other Vibrio species except V. mimicus, because of its obligate requirement for sodium ions (Na+). This medium is prepared by replacing animal peptones with vegetable defined peptones to avoid BSE/TSE/GMO risk.
