HiPurA® Marine Algae DNA Purification Kit
DNA extraction from algae remains difficult due to the presence of a rigid cell wall that contains sulphated polysaccharides. Viscous soluble polysaccharides are released by grinding Algae material in liquid nitrogen that are difficult to separate from DNA, therefore CTAB method has been applied for DNA extraction. The scale of extraction is dependent on the amount of starting material.
