Product Description
Potassium dihydrogen phosphate is a widely used biological buffer with very high buffering capacity. It has pKa* of 2.12, 7.21 and 12.32 at 20°C.
In cell culture applications, potassium dihydrogen phosphate is used as a component of buffer solutions, animal cell culture media and insect cell culture media wherein it functions as a buffering system and serves as a source of phosphorus and potassium.
In addition to its use in cell culture systems, potassium dihydrogen phosphate is also used for preparation of neutral potassium phosphate buffer solutions. These solutions are used for molecular biology applications such as protein extraction and crystallization.
