Fermentation HiVeg™ Medium Base for C. perfringens is recommended for studying fermentation reaction of Clostridium perfringens with added carbohydrate. This medium was formulated by Spray and is recommended by APHA for determination of fermentation reaction of C.perfringens. This medium helps in identification of C.perfringens from other Clostridium species. Sodium thioglycollate present in the medium creates low oxygen tension required in the medium to facilitate the growth of anaerobic organisms. This medium is prepared by replacing animal peptones with vegetable defined peptones to avoid BSE/TSE/GMO risk.
