Furunculosis HiVeg™ Agar is recommended for detection of Aeromonas salmonicida by means of its brownish red pigment production. Brownish red pigmentation of the colonies in the medium is observed within two to three days of incubation at 22°C is positive presumptive evidence. This medium is prepared by replacing animal peptones with vegetable defined peptones to avoid BSE/TSE/GMO risk.
