Salmonella Differential Medium w/ Sterile Membrane Filter

Recommended for detection and enumeration of Salmonella species from other enteric bacteria by membrane filtration. Lactose fermenting ability is determined by inclusion of chromogenic substrate, which can detect the presence of enzyme ß-galactosidase and yields blue violet coloured colony. Salmonella produce acid from propylene glycol and on combining with the pH indicator gives typical pink red colonies. Gram positive bacteria are inhibited. Sterile pad is supplied in sterile Petri plate. Membrane filter is supplied.
