Rotavirus (RoV) is the most common cause of diarrheal disease.. It is a double stranded RNA virus (dsRNA) with nine species. The virus belongs to the family Reoviridae. The virus is transmitted by the fecal-oral route. It causes gastroenteritis and infects and damages the cells that line the small intestines. Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) is an alternative method that allows for sensitive and specific detection of Non-Structural Protein 3 (NSP3) gene from clinical and environmental samples. Hi-PCR® Rotavirus Probe PCR Kit is designed to detect the Non-Structural Protein 3 (NSP3) gene of RoV with Internal Control in a single tube reaction.
