It illustrates the process of DNA movement from one bacterium to another by a viral carrier. Using a Bacteriophage Vector, this kit demonstrates Viral Transduction and Horizontal Gene Transfer for Microbial Genetics Laboratory Training.
HiPer® Transduction Teaching Kit can be used to learn the process of Transduction where a particular gene is transferred from one host (donor) to another host (recipient) through bacteriophage. In this kit, a chloramphenicol resistant gene is transferred from donor bacterial cell to the ampicillin resistant recipient bacterial cell through bacteriaophage which can be screened by observing growth pattern on LB agar plates with chloramphenicol and ampicillin.
