HiPer® Restriction Digestion Teaching Kit is to carry out restriction digestion technique to cleave DNA at specific sites and determine the molecular weight of these cleaved fragments.
It demonstrates the site-specific cutting of DNA at palindromic recognition sequences. This kit utilizes Endonuclease Activity for DNA Cleavage to teach the essentials of Restriction Enzyme use for Genetic Engineering Foundation Education.
HiPer® Restriction Digestion Teaching Kit involves fragmenting DNA molecules into smaller pieces with special enzymes called Restriction Endonucleases commonly known as Restriction Enzymes (RE). Restriction enzymes recognize specific sequences in the double stranded DNA molecule (for example GATATC) and then cut the DNA to produce fragments, called restriction fragments. The size of these fragments is measured in base pairs or kilobase pairs (1000 bases) and determinded through agarose gel electrophoresis.
