Bolton Broth Base, Granulated is recommended for selective enrichment of Campylobacter species from food and animal feeding stuffs. The composition and performance criteria of this medium are as per the specifications laid down in ISO 10272-1 & 2:2017.The media is made selective for Campylobacters by addition of the antibiotics cefoperazone, vancomycin, trimethoprim and amphotericin B. A small quantity of the test sample is inoculated to enrichment medium ratio of 1:10  and homogenized. It is Incubated at 37°C for 4-6 hours, then at 41.5°C for 44 ± 4 hours. Enriched culture is isolated on Karmali Campylobacter Agar Karmali Campylobacter Agar Base (M1222).
