1M Tris-Cl, pH 6.4
Tris is the common name of tris (hydroxymethyl) aminomethane. It is a primary amine and is effective as a buffer in the pH range between 7.0 and 9.2. Tris does not precipitate calcium salts and maintains solubility of manganese salts. It has a low UV absorbance but strong temperature sensitivity. This buffer is supplied as 1M.

Primary amine effective as a buffer sonsisting of 1M Tris. It has a pre-adjusted pH of 6.4 with varing applications including nucleic acid purification. It is also used for preparating buffer solutions, e.g. Tris-EDTA buffer, Tris-acetate EDTA buffer, Tris-borate EDTA buffer, Tris-buffered saline etc.
