Mineral Modified Glutamate Agar Base, Ganulated is used for the enumeration of Escherichia coli from meat and meat products. The composition and performance criteria of this medium are as per the specifications laid down in laid down in ISO 6391:1997, Enumeration of Escherichia coli is done on incubation at 44°C. This medium contain a variety of nutrients including salts, amino acids and vitamins. Lactose is the fermentable carbohydrate. Because of the nutrients, The medium is superior to other media, in testing for coliforms and Escherichia coli because it initiates faster growth as it contains sodium glutamate.
