This medium is recommended for susceptibility testing of Haemophilus influenzae. This medium scores over Mueller Hinton Agar with haemoglobin over clarity, thereby enabling proper visualization of inhibition zones. It also has low levels of the nucleotide thymidine, which allows testing of trimethoprim/sulphamethoxazole.
