N,N’-Methylenebis(acrylamide) is a cross-linking agent used during the formation of polymers such as polyacrylamide. Its molecular formula is C₇H₁₀N₂O₂. Bisacrylamide is used in biochemistry as it is one of the compounds of the polyacrylamide gel.
N,N′-Methylenebisacrylamide is commonly called as bis. It is used as a cross-linking agent in the preparation of polyacrylamide gels consisting of chains of acrylamide monomers. The concentration of N,N′-methylenebisacrylamide and acrylamide determines the pore size of the gel.
