Wij's solution is analytical reagent used to determine the iodine value of a substance
Wij's solution is analytical reagent used to determine the iodine value of a substance. Fatty acids present in sample reacts with excess of Wij's solution. Unreacted Wij's solution is then allowed to react with potassium iodide, converting it to iodine, whose concentration can be determined by titration with sodium thiosulfate to determine iodine value of sample.
