Sca I

Sca I is a Restriction Endonuclease purified from an Streptomyces albus strain that carries the Sca I gene. The restriction enzyme Sca I recognizes the DNA sequence A G T^A C T and optimally cleaves the DNA at 37°C when used with 10X Assay Buffer. Sca I is a restriction endonuclease that recognizes a palindromic six base pair sequence for DNA cleavage. The Endonuclease Activity provides AGTACT Site Cleavage during a Restriction Digest and is frequently used for Antibiotic Resistance Gene Inactivation in plasmid vectors.
