0.1M Potassium Phosphate Buffer, pH7.2

0.1 M Potassium Phosphate Buffer pH 7.2 is a commonly used phosphate buffer, consist of a mixture of monobasic dihydrogen phosphate and dibasic monohydrogen phosphate. This solution is extensively used for dilution and washing during various biological applications as it maintains the physiological pH and osmolarity. This buffer is developed to provide a standardized medium for the preparation of sample dilutions.  It eliminates the variations in pH associated with the use of distilled water. Phosphates have a very high buffering capacity and are highly soluble in water. The phosphate groups of this buffer help to maintain a constant pH.
